Football Factory (2004)

The first ever football hooligan film with an actual budget, and it seems to pull it off rather well. Danny Dyer plays his part brilliantly and really gets into his role and so has Frank Harper who plays "Billy Bright" a raving lunatic. The problem with this film is that it has started a trend and were likely to see even more of these sorts of films and making football hooligans another commerical phenomenon.

The film has some very good parts and some very tedious parts where the narration and actual language let it down a bit, But it does have its plus sides such as some of the extras are genuine hardmen and have actually experienced the casual culture.

The clothes, language and general hoolyness are fairly accurate, but the film just about makes an good football hooligan dvd due the portrayal of male-bonding which is really what its all about isnt it?

Green Street (2006)

The highest budget yet the worst football hooligan dvd, I have ever had the misfortune of watching. This is the film where Elijah Wood trys to shake his Frodo typecast and fails miserably, He is probaly the worst candidate for the lead of a football hooligan film ever. Not only is Elijah Wood trying to be a hooligan, The rest of the cast cant even decide what accent they want to do, On top of that some of clothes are awful you'd think a high budget hooligan film would of atleast done there research. Clearly not.

This film again has real genuine hardmen as extra, But that is far from making this a film that is watchable. This film is soo awful that I dont even want to write anything more about it.
